We believe that the key to a successful healthcare facility design starts with a thorough understanding of the clinical services to be provided -- and then determining the equipment required to effectively and efficiently provide those services. The equipment utility requirements are then determined so that the architectural spaces and mechanical / electrical services can then be properly sized and oriented to provide the most functional layouts and configurations. This "inside / out" design philosophy allows us to get it right the first time and saves the project many dollars by avoiding costly changes during construction.
The healthcare industry is facing demands to improve efficiency, clinical outcomes and safety against a backdrop of escalating costs. Haphazard introduction of new technology into a complex environment leads to "technology crowding", increased cost and increased risk of adverse events.
SHR sees the medical equipment planner as an integral member of the design team. We are sensitive to the aesthetics of the completed environment as well as the functional integration of the equipment into the configuration and flow of the rooms. We are focused on selecting equipment and systems that will compliment the clinical procedures and protocols while providing options for future growth, evolution and adjustments to those work patterns. A clinician will be in attendance for every primary user group meeting for clinical departments. In addition, our staff will oversee all major medical equipment planning decisions. However on a day-to-day basis you can expect our interaction with your clinical and operational staff, as well as local vendor representatives, in order to address any issues that arise from user group meetings. They will also be working to develop a full understanding of the project's clinical and operational scope so that our team can bring the most comprehensive, correct, complete plan to the table during subsequent user group meetings. Our staff will assist your clinical staff over the course of the project in order to reduce the amount of time and resources that your clinical staff must spend to complete the construction process.
The SHR team, with its on-staff clinicians, brings an outstanding level of expertise that allows us to communicate at all levels and integrate our equipment plan and schedule more effectively. SHR is a registered WBE. Our team will be available to meet with hospital leadership, department managers, design team members, and local equipment sales representatives when needed to get the best information quickly and gain sign-off when needed thus shortening the delivery of critical information and signoffs.
SHR is recognized by colleagues and clients for having developed a vast body of knowledge in our target market of healthcare.
Our mission is to enable our clients to develop and sustain outstanding clinical performance at the completion of their project, fully develop their clinical capabilities and provide an efficient facility to fulfill their business plan.
