Karen Ventura has nearly 20 years of experience in medical equipment planning, clinical consulting, and nursing. She is a registered nurse and has clinical experience in operating rooms, neurology, and med/surg. Ventura was a member of nursing management from 1990 to 2005.
Ventura has both an operational and clinical understanding of the demands placed on facilities to maintain a high level of patient care. Her knowledge of clinical service delivery provides a user’s perspective to departmental design and medical equipment planning. Ventura has expert knowledge in medical technology particularly in the operating room and critical care environments.
In addition to traditional equipment planning skills, Ventura’s lengthy tenure as a nurse manager gives her a unique understanding regarding budget planning and the delicate, often tenuous balance between clinical need and financial responsibility. As an equipment planner, she partners with clients to develop medical equipment budgets, advises on equipment purchasing, and facilitates the move-in process including the coordination of all in-service education.
Prior to her employment with Strategic Hospital Resources, Ventura was the Nurse Manager for Fairview Southdale Hospital Surgical Services Department where she was responsible for the planning and implementation of three fully integrated minimally invasive rooms and planning for eight additional operating rooms. Ventura has also been a successful clinical educator and a research nurse.
Native to Minnesota, Ventura is a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses. She is a graduate of Michigan Technological University.
